Career Partners International is led by an experienced management team, including President and Chief Operating Officer David P. Hemmer and a seven-member Board of Managers, comprised of partner owners. This seasoned team of veterans provides clear vision and direction for CPI.
David P. Hemmer, President and Chief Operating Officer
Dave is responsible for ensuring that CPI seamlessly delivers the highest quality services to our clients. Prior to joining CPI in 1999, Dave was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Talent Alliance, a not-for-profit business league focused on Web-based career management and transition support for its members' employees. Member firms included: AT&T, GTE, Unisys, Johnson & Johnson, UPS, TRW, DuPont, Ceridian and Met Life.

He was a Director within AT&T's human
resources organization, the COO of AT&T Microelectronics - Europe, and served in a wide variety of positions in sales, human resources, quality management, customer service, marketing, product planning, and engineering.

Jim Ratliff, Chairman of the Board
Jim is the Chairman of Cleveland-based Ratliff and Taylor, which he founded in April 1990 and is the Chairman of the Board of Career Partners International. Jim works exclusively with C-Level executives and is best known and recognized for his innovative transition programs. He is an owner, investor and board member of many Cleveland companies and is knowledgeable in all aspects of small business and franchise development. Jim specializes in helping Fortune 500 companies with strategic planning, sales, marketing and general management. John Myers, Past Chairman of the Board
John is one of the founders and a managing partner of Kensington International and is a past Chairman of the Board of Career Partners International. Founded in 1988, Kensington International is headquartered in Chicago and ranks among the largest and most successful Talent Management Firms in the Midwest United States. The firm delivers Executive Search, Leadership Development and Career Transition services to an impressive list of small, mid-size and Fortune 500 clients. Prior to Kensington International, John spent ten years with Federal Signal Corporation in positions of general management, marketing/product management, sales, strategic planning, and new product development. Today, he is active on the speaking circuit where he addresses career management and leadership topics for senior executives. John has also published numerous articles. John holds a Masters degree in Management from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Elaine Varelas, Secretary
Elaine Varelas is Managing Partner of Keystone Partners, CPI's Boston office. She has over 20 years experience in career consulting, executive development and coaching, and has worked with executive management teams to improve organizational effectiveness. Elaine has expertise in resolving complex career management issues, including workforce planning, redeployment and multi-site restructurings. Elaine's experience spans Fortune 500 companies, start-up ventures and not-for-profit organizations. Elaine served as Director of Career Services at Stonehill College where she was a member of the faculty, and in Career Planning and Placement at the Boston University School of Management. Elaine frequently addresses professional associations and has achieved widespread recognition for her expertise and insight on career matters, including two monthly columns featured in the Boston Globe and on Boston.com advising job seekers and HR professionals on career, management and human capital issues. Elaine holds degrees from the University of Vermont and the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

Sharon Imperiale, Director at Large
Sharon is the President of Career Concepts. Career Concepts, founded in 1988, is one of the Philadelphia region’s largest management consulting firms specializing in career transition, executive search, human resource consulting, executive coaching and leadership development. Prior to Career Concepts, Sharon held executive positions with Aetna and Prudential Financial leading the start-up and integration of large customer service operations. During her tenure with Prudential, Sharon led the human resource, organizational development and training efforts for a large Mid-Atlantic business unit of 8500 employees. She led many change management and organizational excellence initiatives throughout her tenures. For CPI, Sharon is the board member leading the Career Transition function, assuring that CPI continues to be the leader in the Outplacement and Career Transition industry.Heidi Schultz, Director at Large
Heidi is a Partner with the Management Resource Group, one of CPI's Midwest United States offices. Heidi has been a human resources specialist for 20 years with diverse experiences with unionized, public sector and private sector organizations. Heidi manages all career transition activities for two offices and works directly with senior-level candidates. She is an expert in large project management, having completed several facility closings effecting thousands of employees. Heidi has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from James Madison University. She earned the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the SHRM.
