Chapel Hill, NC (11/20/14) – Career Partners International, a leading global provider of outplacement, career transition, executive coaching and other talent management services, recently concluded its 2014 complimentary webinar series with a presentation on Generation Z, the youngest generation of workers. The webinar featured the results of a global survey by bestselling author, Dan Schawbel, which he presented to almost 800 industry and business leaders from around the world.
According to Schawbel, Generation Z represents the millions of individuals born between 1994 and 2010. Distinct in their relationships with technology and digital communication, understanding this generation’s expectations, behaviors and needs from employers empowers managers and leaders to develop their workforces and grow their organizations. Schawbel’s research found some key insights about the generation that will enable organizations to prepare for and engage this emerging workforce demographic.
Insights included the desire for defined career paths; the flattening of hierarchies in organizations in the future; a strong focus on collaboration; a greater emphasis on the type of projects and collaboration of people; and the increased use of technology to achieve business objectives.
“The findings of Dan’s research provide valuable insights to the leadership of all organizations,” commented David P. Hemmer, President and CEO of Career Partners International. “Younger generations will soon make up an undeniably large portion of the modern workforce. Now is the time for leaders to prepare for this influx of young workers in the business world to maximize organizational performance.”
Schawbel, who is Managing Partner of Millennial Branding, authored “Promote Yourself: The New Rules For Career Success” and the international bestselling book, “Me 2.0: 4 Steps to Building Your Future,” which combined have been translated into 15 languages. A columnist at Time and Forbes, Schawbel has been featured in over 1,000 media outlets. He was named to the Inc. magazine ‘30 Under 30 List’ in 2010, the Forbes magazine ‘30 Under 30 List’ in 2012, and has spoken for leading organizations including Google, NBC Universal, McGraw-Hill, Oracle, Harvard Business School, MIT, Time Warner, IBM and CitiGroup.
